I have to tell you a story about someone I know who is
changing the world.
His name is Regan Polk. He was a part of the team I went
to Kenya with last January. I saw
his heart grow and expand for this country each day that went by. I saw his love and passion for the
people there, especially the men and boys in the IDP camps. I saw the breaking
that God was doing in his heart for the injustices of this world. I saw him
come alive.
So, what is he doing
now?
Doing an Ironman! That’s right! An Ironman on May 7th!
2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, and 26.2 mile run! Crazy I
know!
He has given up a lot of things to train for this event.
He has had to have dedication and perseverance to accomplish this goal of his. And
here is the cool thing, he wants to dedicate this accomplishment to the Lord. He
is combining a passion that the Lord has given him with a need in the world to
bring the Kingdom of God to this earth! Pretty sweet!
So, how is he doing this exactly? His goal is to finish
this race in less than 17 hours. Different people are sponsoring him for every
minute under 17 hours that he completes the race. For example, if Joe sponsors
Regan 10 cents for every minute under 17 hours that he completes the race, and
he completes the race in 14 hours, then Joe would donate $18 to Regan.
Where is Regan donating the money?
The Kenya Initiative!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This has been an amazing example of the body of Christ
working together… someone who has a passion and who wants to see change in the
world! What a creative way to support what the Lord is doing in our lives.
Some people are called to go. Some are called to give.
Some are even called to exercise!
But we are all called to DO SOMETHING.
If you would like to support Regan and sponsor him and his
race and help bring captives free in Kenya you can do so by emailing us your
