So this weekend was suppose to be a
relaxing weekend in Chicago for me, moving my brother out into his new
apartment, and honestly just a weekend to get away from Cincinnati, but God decided that this would be the weekend to through culture shock round 2 my way! Oh you got to love the timing of the Lord!

Me and my brother got my dad and mom Red’s
tickets in Chicago for Father’s Day (I think my mom enjoyed the present
more than my dad) so we are on our way to Wrigley Field! Yay!!!! Oh
baseball, such an all-American sport (Eating, sitting, etc).
40,000 people were at this game. 40,000 faces were sitting and watching a GAME.
All these thoughts are running through my head… you know me,
“analytical” is one of my top 5 strengths you know (thank you Lee
University for that one!). I couldn’t
get over how many people would spend $40 (on the cheap side) to sit and
watch a game. Not counting the overpriced food people are buying at
this game.  Did you know that it cost $4.50 for ONE hot dog? Hello… $6.75 for one beer. And
let me tell you, people were not just buying one beer. If you think about it
if 1/2 the stadium bought just one hot dog and 1/2 the stadium bought
just one beer that would be $225,000. Excuse me! Are you kidding me?

But
who can judge? I am sitting in the stands too. And i just get
overwhelmed by it all. I literally don’t even think i watched one
inning of the game because i was thinking about all the money that was
wrapped up in this one field. Not counting how much each of the
baseball players get paid for each game that they are in. I don’t want
to even go into numbers with that.

I just kept thinking about how much more to life
there is than sitting and watching 9 players play a GAME. How that
$225,000 could change an entire city in a different country, and
honestly how most of those 40,000 people probably have never heard the
name of the Lord. And then i just felt guilty… but at the same time i
felt extremely lucky. Lucky that God would chose me to be apart of that “greater” thing, that we call His kingdom.

40,000 faces. And i am just one in that mix. This world needs Jesus so bad. We get to be a part of bringing life to those who have never heard his name before. but the cool thing is that we CAN’T
do it alone. We need Jesus to help. So humbling, but a relief at the
same time. When i looked out into that crowd i seriously got
overwhelmed by the “responsibility” that i thought i had… but we are
only called to love those people. jesus will do the rest. Love love, it’s all about love.

So,
i just want to challenge you guys. Don’t give up on the world, like i
seriously wanted to do that day, but remember that we are chosen by the
God of universe help bring his name glory! That is an honor!
