It has been quite some time since I have written my launch update blog before leaving America. It was an incredibly long journey, almost 4 days long, to get to our first location here in Chipata Zambia. My team and I were chosen to stay in the main town for this week, while the other two teams that traveled with us have been to sent to villages on the outskirts of town. On Tuesday we will be going out to a village called Mazimoyo that has no running water or electricity. Due to the craziness of our travel schedule we only started our ministry responsibilities just three days ago. In spite of the fact that I have been battling some sinus problems and dehydration, I am overcome with joy that can only come from The Lord. In just a week, my heart to see Africa drastically transformed by Christ has been rekindled. Yesterday was incredible. Not only did I wear Morgan Cottrell’s skirt, our own version of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, but we were able to spend time praying for and encouraging a single mom boggled down with shame, made an appointment with a lady so that we can pray for her daughter who has a rare medical condition, met South Korean missionaries that started a youth ministry here in Zambia, ate traditional Korean food, learned an African wedding dance, spent time with our host family, and finally got to spend time bonding as teammates over manicures and girl talk. Today we were able to volunteer at a local clinic, work on our wife skills (cooking Shime, weeding, washing dishes, and wearing chitanges), and pray for patients in a local hospital. It has been such an incredible experience for me to return to Africa. The men of women of God that we have had the pleasure of getting to know in the last few days have just blown me away with their passion for The Lord and seeing Him transform their nation and the world for His glory. I just please ask that all of you to continue to intercede as we continue to venture out in the streets of Chipata for evangelism. Overall God has been using this experience so far to truly break our hearts for the nation of Zambia. I love you all, and I can’t wait to update you all again soon.
