Month 2 in Nepal we did a treasure hunt. We asked the Holy Spirit to show us where to go or what to do and had an incredible experience. Well, we had a chance to do it again here in Swazi and once again God orchestrated a beautiful encounter.

I was with Meg, Hannah, and Paul who is a long term missionary here. First, we sat in silence with the Lord and asked for His guidance.

Some things the Lord revealed to us were: a picture of a statue in a certain park, a small body of water, people who are lost/broken, and a few other various clues.

We set off for the park with the statue that Paul had a vision of. When we got there it was sprinkled with people, many of whom were homeless and we felt the spiritual darkness. Near the back of the park was a small pond like I had seen while praying. We knew we were in the right place so we began walking the perimiter in silent prayer seeking what to do next.

Eventually we split off into pairs and Meg and I made conversation with a couple people and prayed for them. Then I noticed two women sitting in the grass and asked Meg if she wanted to go over to them.

They were a sweet mother daughter duo and they welcomed us to sit in the grass and chat. As we were talking about our faith the daughters eager words caught me off guard…

want to follow Jesus! How do I follow Him?”

My heart leapt at the evidence of her hunger and sincerity. We further explained who Jesus is and then Meg led them in prayer to declare that they believed and wanted to give their lives to Him.

As we were leaving, the daughter came after us waving a piece of paper with her name and number on it. We left the park and walked to a local church and gave them her information so they can follow up with her.

I am amazed at God’s love driven pursuit of us. These women were so hungry for the hope of the gospel and all it took was sitting down in the grass and simply sharing it.

Please join me in praying that their knowledge and love for the Lord would continually increase. Also, please join me in grabbing hold of the opportunities we have in this life to tell people the good news of salvation.
