This month in Swaziland I’ve been working as a pre-school teachers helper. It is challenging and tests my patience daily, but man do these kids reflect the Father’s heart. Here’s a few things they’ve helped remind me…

-Honestly speak what’s on your mind no sugar-coating necessary

-A little dirt never killed anyone

-No question is off limits

– It’s always a good time for a bag of chips

-You can move as fast as lightning if you try

-A paint roller is multifunction: good for digging up plants and as a rolling toy

-Adults are, in fact jungle gyms

-Aggression is usually just a cover up for a very soft heart

-To determine if something is edible you must first put it in your mouth

– Give lots of hugs

-Live in the moment

-Share your things

-Don’t stifle your true personality. If you’re “too much” for somebody it’s their loss

-Sing loudly

-Dance passionately

-Play hard

-Rock your own style unashamedly

-Give today your all, no need to save energy for a tomorrow that’s not here yet

-Don’t be too proud to ask for help when you need it

-Be grateful for everything you have

-Live from a place of innocent love and trust

Even with 10 little cheetoh fingers in my hair and squeaky voices shouting from all directions I am grateful for every day spent with these kids. Many of them have outgrown shoes, eat only one meal a day, and have a broken home life yet they have so much joy. They remind me of what’s important in life.

“About that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who is greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven?” Jesus called a little child to him and put the child among them. Then he said, “I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven.” -Matthew 18:1-4

On the 24th we head to South Africa for our last stop on the race. We will be partnering with a really cool ministry and living in a hostel. So the tent was never needed after all. I literally can’t wrap my mind around the fact that in a month I will be “home” in America.
But I think the Lord has some really special things in the making before then and I will keep you updated!

Love you all, xoxo Jenna
