It’s been a long time since I’ve written, so I want to share a little bit about what’s been going on. First I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has been a part of this process with me. It has been incredible seeing the love and support that has come my way, so THANK YOU!!! Here goes…
#1) I’m almost 75% funded!!!!! That means I’m roughly $4,000 away from being FULLY FUNDED! So incredible! When I first began this journey I have to admit I was doubtful and often discouraged, but now I’m seeing once again how faithful God is even when I am not.
#2) We will no longer be going to Greece! Instead we will be going to Albania which I am pretty excited about!
#3)Instead of Botswana we will now be going to Zimbabwe! Also exciting! & ever since finding out about this change I’ve been hearing about Zimbabwe all over so I know the Lord has big plans there. I ran into a friend at Wal-Mart (my second home) and she was telling me about her time serving there and how rich in joy the people were. Then on Saturday the speaker at church was talking about a medical missions trip him and a group had taken there and how the people were so eager to receive prayer and come to Christ! Very encouraging! It is also home of the beautiful Victoria Falls.

#4) Only 77 days until I will be meeting all of my squad mates down in Georgia for training camp! I already have my flight all booked and most of my gear all ready. Everyday I see it sitting there in the corner of my bedroom serving as a reminder that this will be my life in just a few short months.
#5) Our official launch date to be in Atlanta is January 7th/8th! That means 157 days until I hug my family and friends goodbye for a year and hop on a plane to India! 157 more days of enjoying the luxuries of this home I have been blessed to stay in, the people I adore, my little car, my job, eating the food I like, and the safety of my familiar agendas and routines. The time is flying by. I’m reminded to enjoy this season of life that I’m in b/c there will never be another just like it.
#6) Last but not least, I want to share with you what keeps me pressing forward with this some days when the doubts and fears seem to be closing in on me. After I had been accepted on the race, I wanted a clear answer from the Lord that this truly was His will and not just something I wanted. So I had climbed up the side of a huge hill and was praying desperately for God to show me in some clear way if He wanted me to do this. In the midst of my fervent prayer I opened my mini bible and my eyes fell directly upon this verse… “And here is my judgment about what is best for you in this matter. Last year you were the first not only to give but also to have the desire to do so. Now finish the work, so that your eager willingness to do it may be matched by your completion of it, according to your means.” – 2 Cor. 8:10-12. In that moment the answer was so clear to me what He wanted me to do. So I keep that verse on a blue sticky note right on my computer as a reminder:)
Thank you all again for being a part of this journey with me; I will continue to keep you updated. I love you all!!!
