Okay! So I realize that I havent actually written a blog since Greece. I also am aware that I have not posted and Vlogs (video logs) since Chile. There are some things that I would love to catch you up on.
I love to make videos, I love recording footage for the vlogs that I post and share everythig with all of you. I fell behind in making my vlogs and I intend on catching up. I have footage beyond footage to edit and go through (which I do gladly), and I even have Bulgaria done. I have lost all my video footage from Bolivia and it might be some time before I can borrow footage from my past teammates to make that video. Also while in Greece I was about to start creating my Kosovo video when my computer broke. I woke up one morning and my screen was cracked. Normally this wouldnt be too bad but I have a tablet with a keyboard and well… only half of my screen was functional 50% of the time. Last week I recieved a new computer that I can finally get back to editing. So please continue to be patient and I will post those as soon as I can.
I have just finished my month in Romania. There is so much to say about all that happened, the month had its ups and its downs. I got a new team and if you want to hear all the amazing things about them I can tell you but for now I just want to tell you about ministry this month in Romania.
Romania was yet again another all squad month…yay!(sarcastic). I love my squadmates but i’m kinda ready to just be with my team and just really devote my time with these amazing ladies and not share them (I’m selfish). The whole squad this month worked with Hope Church in Dragaensti-olt, Romania. The churcha and Ministry is ran by Raul and his wife Anna. From this church there are multiple ministries that the teams broke off and worked with for the month. My team worked with 9,000 Souls, a evangelical and disipleship community that goes out into the local community to try and reach the 9,000 souls that are living in Draganesti. We worked with some amazing people, Anna, Veronika, George, Sorin, Alex, Sami, and Andrea. I have very much enjoyed learning about these people, their passions, why they joined 9,000 souls, their personal hearts behind the mission, and about their relationships with the lord. It was such a joy and an honor to work besides these people for a month doing house visits, meeting new people and telling them about christ. On the weekend we even went to the local market and handed out pamplets, books, cds, bibles, and one weekend played music and sang.
Every Sunday I went to the same church that is a partner of Hope Church and is ministered by our host Raul’s brother Alexi. Church service is about 2 hours long and is full of messages, songs and prayer. Towards the end of every service our group (3-5 of us Racers there) would sing a song or two and also give a testimony or two. I have looked forward to every sunday for some reason, hoping and expecting I would end up at the same church, because I have loved its small and powerful atmosphere.
The end of the month was probably my favorite, PVT. PVT stands for Parent Vision Trip, so for 5 days parents have the opportunity to come out and join us on the field and partner with us and do what we are doing. My mom came out and as soon as I saw here I bolted at here and jumped and hugged her and just bawled my eyes out (so did she). I didnt know how happy I was about to be seeing her until the moment arrived. I was really glad that my mom got to see a glimpse of what I do out here on a day to day basis (yes mom that was just a glimpse). She got to do 9,000 Souls ministry with me and do house visits and see and meet some of the people I see and talk to on a daily/weekly basis. Another great expienece I got to share with here was that she and some of the other parents were living at the church that I had been attending all month and we all got to attend together. The short week was so great, my mother and I had some really great time together and some really great conversations as well that are very bonding as mother and daughter. Our last night at ministry before our fun day in the city the next day we had a nice debreifing and took communion and then we got to pray over our parents not as our parents put as brothers and sisters in christ. This was very different to me but also a very great thing to expirence with her. Our last day was a fun day and we spent it in Bucharest and we did a city tour bus, went to Hard Rock Cafe, had dinner at a cute little pizza place, had more good conversations. It. Was. Perfect.
So my month in Romania came to an end, I had known for some time that Romania was going to be a big month for me and I learned in many ways that it was. Durning the month the lord gave me a vision for a ministry, that is starting to actually take off and I am currently planning and praying into. I had amazing time and connection with my mom while she was with me. I got to bond really well with my new teammates and it has been so beautiful to share life with them. Romania was my month. It was good, it had some bad, but the bad was covered with the reminder of how good God is and how patient he is, and how just all around us he always is.
