Just another information blog.
Hello again 🙂 sorry it’s taken me a year to write a blog for you, but I suppose we can put the past behind us and appreciate the blogs that will come now.
So, information:
During this past month my team and I were working in a town near the boarder of Thailand here in Malaysia as english teachers at a kindergarten. We were sharing this ministry host with another team on our squad as well so there was a total of 13 people working there. Because of our large number and the fact that they only had need for 8 teachers the rest of us (myself included) worked with our host doing odd jobs and maintenance for the month. The schedule was laid back which I believe was a good way to start off being out on our own away from the whole squad. It allowed for better bonding between us teammates.
Now we are off to Vietnam… kind of. There was a slight issue with our visas so for now we are waiting things out in Kuala Lumpur till we are allowed to enter the country. While in Vietnam we will be working at a coffee shop called Masters Cup. Vietnam is a closed country and so again, we will not be able to openly discuss or evangelize with the people. Masters Cup is specially designed to have the Vietnamese people come in to practice their english with native english speakers. They have some who work there on a consistent basis and others, like us, who are guests. They provide the space for groups of vietnamese people to come and have a conversation for as long as they would like with us native english speakers. Through building these relationships in conversation Masters Cup hopes to spread the gospel to the people. They also have a website if you would like to look into it for yourself. www.masterscupsaigon.com
Also, in my last blog I said that route changes were coming, well now they’re here. Our new route is:
1. Philippines
2.Malaysia
3.Vietnam
4.Cambodia
5.Thailand
6.South Africa
7.Swaziland
8.Ireland
9.Albainia
10.Bulgaria
11.Romania
Believe it or not we met a squad in their last month who said their route never changed… We’ll see how long this one lasts for us. 🙂
As we go into Vietnam please keep in mind that the internet is monitored by the government and the amount of freedom we will have on it is unknown. That means probably no Facebook and possible no blogs. My email is [email protected] so feel free to email if you would like, however, emails cannot contain and obvious christian words (missions, missionary, God, Jesus… and so on). Please be praying for opportunities for us to share and the boldness to take those opportunities. Also for funding, I still need $1800 to be fully funded and some of my teammates need much more than that. Thank you for keeping us in your prayers and for all of your support.
