UPDATE:

We have been so blessed by lots of people contributing to us for bibles. We were able to buy 5 today to take back up this week and ordered 20 more that will be ready to pick up on Wednesday. All the support above and beyond the cost of bibles will be put towards additional ministry needs including buying jackets for children at the local thrift shop and school supplies from lists that the local teachers have given us.
How amazing it is to be able to provide for both their spiritual and physical needs
Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus

We have been living in Rio Colorado for 2 weeks now.  Everyday during the week we go visit people at their house and share the good news of Jesus Christ with them. The majority of the houses we enter are Catholic and not a single person in any of the houses we have been to own a Bible!

Our first day of ministry here we hiked 2 hours up the mountain from where we live.  There is  a small one room schoolhouse where an amazing woman named Sadi now teaches and lives.  She moved up there from the city of La Esperanza.  We arrived and taught a lesson at the school, I helped teach the 6th grade class of 6 students.  We taught some english and a bible lesson on John 3:16 (Juan 3:16 in Spanish).  I asked the students if they had a bible at home and I heard a resounding NO from all but 1 student, Sadi’s daughter.  That moment broke my heart and I immediately began copying John 3:16 in Spanish on a piece of paper, so each of them would have a verse of scripture to take home.  This has been the case of most of the schools we visit.  I have them copy down the verse, so they can have some scripture of their own.  Then the most beautiful thing happens, a noise that can only be described as ‘the sound of heaven’ breaks out, all the children of the class start to recite the scripture.  We have them say it over and over.  If it is music to my ears, I can only imagine the joy it brings to our Father.  Even the teachers write down the scriptures!  The church we attend averages 90 people and they have 10 bibles in the church to hand out for people to read.  They are starving for God’s word, desperate for Truth, desiring an opportunity for scripture.

Will you help us obtain bibles?

We have contacted a local christian store in La Esperanza called El Camino and asked them to locate the cheapest bible for us, so far that is 143 lempiras roughly $7.50.  We will buy what we can but it is coming out of our personal funds.  Can you partner with us in getting bibles to the village of Rio Colorado, Honduras?  If you will pledge an amount, we will front the cost for the bibles and can continue spreading the gospel.
