Uganda was one of our favorite months.  We loved everything about our life there.  We loved the family we were living with, the kids at school, church, and teaching our cell group bible study.  In the mornings I would sit outside and allowed God to love me and show me how to love better, it was a beautiful time and I am better for it.  This is what came of it, most of this from my journal.

God SO loved the world that He GAVE his only son… John 3:16
God's love caused him to act.  My love should cause me to act.  I should not only "love in  word and talk but in deed and in truth." 1 John 3:18

It's a choice- choose Love, choose Joy
I choose what my reactions are, I am going to choose love in all circumstances.

…and it is more than a choice, it is a command.
In fact, it is the greatest command behind loving the Lord, which is the only way we can love others anyway.

Love does without condition.  It won't look pretty or be enjoyable a lot of the time but work unto The Lord

Sometimes you won't get thanked for serving.  Ask the father for adoration. Sometimes it will even go unnoticed, but your serving allows others to enjoy themselves more.

That is what it's about, serving b/c I love them not b/c I have to.  I want good things for them
Serving because I have to or can get something out of it is at best good conduct and at worst selfishness.  I serve out of love or I do not serve at all, I will not walk around a whitewashed tomb.

Humble yourself like Christ

I may never know the difference I make, but I WILL make a difference
If it is all for only 1 person it is all worth it!

I have realized my selfishness, which moved me to fasting, to serve more and put myself last
True fasting from Isaiah 58

The strong must work for the weak.  Build them up, encourage them, do not judge.  Romans ch 14&15
Hurt people hurt people, Healed people heal people.  Which one will I be?
