So I was chatting with a friend the other day about being "called" and he mentioned that this is a question people will always want to know…

How were you called into ministry(missions)?

Well he pointed out that being “called” isn’t a biblical term at all but it is still the number one question asked.

All that to say, here is the answer to the question anyway for those of you that are curious….

I was born in Kenya while my parents  were working there as teachers.  I gained  a love for cultures and a heart for  people around the world at an early age.

I Grew up in Pecos, Tx attending First Baptist Church.  One summer, like every other summer, I was at church camp.  I loved church camp it always produced an extreme spiritual, emotional high.  This year they asked who was going to be a missionary, I raised my hand with NO clue what that decision meant.

Fast forward to 2007, I’m at college  living with roommates.  My world revolves  around ME!  How I felt, what I wanted,  and how I was going to get it.

God changed that, He met me in my room  around 2am on a Sunday night and showed  me that I needed to live for HIM.

I moved home, went on a short term  mission trip with First Baptist to Poland, doing vacation bible schools and a vision was reawakened

In 2008  I went for a semester to  South  Africa, taught true love waits in 4  high  schools and helped lead the youth  group at the local church.  God opened my  eyes to  His wonders.
He answered prayers,  surrounded me in community, and  tought me how to LOVE.

My most recent mission field has been in the United States Coast Guard, where I have been able to live out the Bible and christianity 24/7 in barracks with other young men.  Walking the walk not just talking the talk.

In January I will be going on the World Race.  The only calling I have ever received is to know and love Jesus and those that He loves
So I will do that across 11 countries in 11 months!
