Celebrate Recovery is an amazing ministry I am blessed to be a part of.  We meet every Friday night at 6pm to  have dinner together, at 7 either a lesson is taught or a testimony is given, then we breakup into small groups to share what life has dealt us that week.  Lives are being changed, you wouldn’t know it if you just showed up for one Friday, but hang around awhile and you can see people going from a daily addiction to months of sobriety and from being ashamed to being honest and open about life!

Every week I’m hit with new hope.  Hope that I can overcome, that my sister can overcome, and those around me can overcome.  Nothing is impossible for God and new miracles happen every day.  My favorite part, other than sharing life with the people, is reading the serenity prayer.  It gives me better perspective every time I say it.

I hope to return from the World Race and jump right back into Celebrate Recovery, and to continue working in this ministry throughout my life wherever God might take us.

If you have never heard of Celebrate Recovery watch the videos I’ve posted, look for a meeting near you, or contact me.  I’d love to share more about it with you.  Believe me there can be Joy even amidst deep sorrow.  As I looked around church last week I saw people that have been hurt by:

Broken families
Miscarriages
Divorce
Porn addiction
Alcohol/drug addiction
The death of parents
The death of siblings
Abuse- physical and emotional
Eating disorders
Infertility

And many others I’m probably not even aware of…

Alongside those hurts they had smiling faces, tears of joy singing how great our God is.  We are all broken people, beggars just trying to show other beggars where the bread of life is.
