Jenn and I have been on this crazy adventure called The World Race for over 6 months now and it has changed our lives! It is not what we expected but it is SO good. The most common answer on The World Race when asked, “how is life?” is “hard, but good.” It is so true. We have been faced with lots of challenges physically, emotionally and spiritually, both as individuals and as a couple. We wouldn’t change a thing. God has us exactly where he wants us and we are thankful everyday for your support in getting us here.
We have watched 50+ individuals come together as a family in sharing celebrations, tears and coffee, of course. We had the privilege of having three amazing alumni of The World Race guide us as squad leaders on this journey and train leaders along the way. We participated in sharing deep secrets so that we could all receive healing from our pasts. People on our squad have grown in their identity as a son or daughter of the living God, in their relationship with the Lord, and everyday we grow in our ability to reflect Christ better. There is so much healing and freedom that has occurred throughout our squad in the last six months that we truly are new creations in Christ.
Our readers asked, so we would like to share with you what is to potentially come after the Race. Jenn and I have enjoyed watching and being part of so much growth and lives being transformed that we feel God is moving us to something bigger. We are prayerfully considering becoming squad leaders for a future World Race squad! We would love for you to be praying along with us. It would mean that we would probably go back out in July 2014 and lead a group for their first 5 months. We would be helping them navigate international travel, logistics and culture, but most importantly just listening to them pour out their hearts, guide them through what God is teaching them and spurring them on to what God has created them to be.
Discipleship is so important to us and we would love the opportunity to walk alongside with 50 individuals growing in Christ. However, we know that we would not be capable of doing it at this point in our journey, so please pray with us as we continue to learn how to love others better, to listen to the Father and how marriage works on the Race. We would want to see friends and family as much as possible before leaving the country again, which means going to Oklahoma, Texas, Alaska and all along the east coast! Thank you for the prayers and continued support.
