So for anyone who doesn’t know, the World Race is an incredible opportunity for 21-35 year olds. Fun fact, the latter of those ages is right around the corner for me, like seriously, close! So as I began praying about applying for WR, I knew there was a certain sense of urgency since I’m so close to “aging out” of this opportunity (keeping in mind Adventures in Missions has lots of other opportunities for all ages!). It was a literal now or never scenario, so I began walking this journey and prayed that if this was not what was next for me, God would close the door, so far all open doors! So as I continue to walk with God on this, I wanted to share where and what I’ll be doing.
Basic info first, the World Race is an 11 month 11 country mission trip. My route is the first all Asia route offered and I will be ministering in :
In each country we will be working with a different established ministry so each month could look radically different, from holding and loving on orphans, to working with victims of trafficking to construction, basically being the hands and feet of Jesus however the in country leaders need us! As amazing as this possibility is, I can’t do it alone. . . First and foremost, I NEED prayer, like everyday! Prayer for strength, for wisdom, for funding, for endurance and for anything else God lays on your heart to pray over me! I also need financial partnering in this, below are the funding deadlines I have throughout this process and if you feel led, there is a Support Me tab to the left of this post:
- $3,500 – Due 7/9/2014 ( before Training Camp)
- $7,500 – Due 8/18/2014 (2 weeks prior to trip)
- $11,000 – Due 12/1/2014 (End of 3 months on the field)
- $15,500.00 + $754.35 (*Insurance) = $16,254.35 – Total Due 3/1/2015 (End of 6 months on the field)
There is also quite a bit of gear I’ll need for the trip, think Man vs. Wild with Bear Grylls type equipment! Ahh! Haha!
