Look at this amazing Devotional that was dedicated to our squad Written by: Sheila Alewine and Inspired by: Dave and Shelia our Squad Coaches! The best squad coaches ever! So, blessed and lucky to have them!

I started this devo the other day and in reading the first page it explained the number 1 question I always get in regard to the word race. Is it a race? And honestly, I was not sure how to respond but now I can thanks to Sheila Alewine. She provided the perfect explanation and the answer is YES!

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart”. (Hebrews 12:1-3)

The word “race” is a metaphor it describes the persevering activity in the Christian course with a view to obtaining the reward. Even when we have trained well, are prepared mentally, physically, and spiritually, and have our eyes firmly fixed on the goal, this race can be daunting. We will grow tired and get discouraged.  Hebrews gives us hope! Its only in pursuing Christ Himself that we find the reward and can run the race with joy. (Let us Run the Race Buy: Sheila Alewine)
