Fundraising $19,200 to fully fund my 11 month missions trip is/was a daunting task. I have gone on other missions’ trips before but I have never had to fundraise that much before and even then, it was a struggle. Why? Well, money is an area that I struggle to talk about very much. Especially when asking for people to donate their hard work earned money. Its uncomfortable! It’s not just that though… when I started looking at the root of why it made me so uncomfortable to talk about, the thing that I was struggling with was simply asking for help. I did not want to be a burden or annoying. However, walking through this season of fundraising I have learned that I was being selfish and prideful thinking that this was all about me when in reality it is all about JESUS! What can’t He do…. I knew the answer. It was just not registering in my heart yet.
I was preventing others in joining me in this fundraising journey. I was keeping people from experiencing/ encountering the Lords work in their life through them giving. Thank goodness, I snapped out it because I have seen the Lord move so much in my fundraising process and in the lives of the people who have graciously donated. Being able to reconnect with friends and family that I have not seen or talked to in a long time. Connecting with new friends and growing in relationship with them more. Seeing family and close friends give more than necessary, encouraging me and speaking truth into my life when all the enemy wants to do is instill fear and doubt. The Lord was always their waiting and ready to do his work and show His glory.
I am currently 81% funded! With all your help, we have been able to fundraise $15,593.00!!!! Way to go us! I am so unbelievably thankful for each and every one of you! I would have never been able to get this far without your help! Thank you for joining me on this journey and being open to experience or encounter God in a new way.
I have $3,607.00 left to be fully funded!!! Let’s keep crushing this big feat that is set before us because we are so close in accomplishing it. My Goal is to be fully funded by October!!! Let’s go team!
