“I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. John 14:18

This blog is a dedication to a girl who has absolutely no one to call her their daughter and has nothing but the clothes that she wears. She has with one sweet smile and a loud laugh captured my heart. Her name is Life, in my eyes she gives a new meaning to her name everyday.

Every morning I wake up and she is the first thing on my mind. She is a 9 year old here at El Shaddai. Life is the sweet girl I have been partnered with for the month.

There are 40 racers that are on this mountain and there are 40 grade school kids here living at the orphanage, so we have been given one child to connect with. We get to play with them, love them, and help them with school work everyday.

We had the opportunity to choose which child we wanted to be partnered with but I decided to just wait and see which child wasn’t picked first and I would choose one of the last ones. I am thankful I made that decision. Her description said funny, smart, and outgoing. I knew we were a match made in Heaven. To my surprise she is actually quite shy, she laughs a whole lot, and has her homework done before I can even get to her in the evenings.

Life is a ray of sunshine, she has a huge smile constantly on her face and is giggling most of the time. She won’t open up about her life to me but her and her older brother came to the orphanage last year. Most girls her age are at the baby house in the afternoons toting a baby on their hip. She is usually climbing the swing set or playing the popular game “sticks” which all the kids love to play.

Life sings loud in chapel and does all the moves to the dances. This past week my team was responsible for chapel time and I volunteered to preach and lead a song. I was nervous and through out the day found every way in my head to back out… I didn’t back out. My sweet girl sat on the front row and had the biggest smile and watched me the whole time. She giggled when I messed up the song and she still did every move along with me.

The thought of me leaving here and leaving her makes me sad to even think about. She has touched a part of my heart that has never been touched. She is a precious child that God created. She is 9 years old and has a long life ahead of her…I know she is going to be something so special. She wants to be a vet when she grows up and have a pet lion.

Life needs someone to show her they support her, they believe in the dreams God has for her, they love her like Christ loves us. I get to carry her love and her hugs with me to the next 9 countries but I know there is someone special who can help her realize she can do much bigger things than be an orphan.

I want her to be sponsored before I leave Africa. She is worth every penny and love that someone can give her. Our squad has set a goal to get every child here sponsored. There are 40 kids and 20 babies. These children carry some heavy stuff in their past but God placed them at El Shaddai so they can have a free and beautiful future that He has already planned for them.

If you are interested in sponsoring her PLEASE email me. She is worth the love and money someone can partner and give towards her. $100 a month with sponsor all her needs. Please prayerfully consider this. Love you all.
