So, its around 10:30 pm on July 7th here and I have had a somewhat emotional day because my World Race countdown flashed 56 more days on my iphone this morning. I really thought it would take a lot longer for only 56 more days to come but instead that time has flown by and before you know it I will be waking up on September 1st and I will be launching. I will be preparing to set out on my 11 month journey instead of taking a hot shower and preparing to head to West Baptist to worship like I did this morning. September 1st will probably be a lot more of an emotional day then today was. I am ready.
I felt the need to write a blog tonight but instead of me writing a blog about how emotional I am and how much I will miss home I am going to write a blog and name 55 things I am thankful for. That is a lot more fun to write and a lot more fun for you to read. (I am writing 55 things because tomorrow will be 55 days till launch and it is pretty close to midnight so I am doing 55 instead of 56.) 🙂
Just to warn you this will probably be pretty silly, pretty random, and definitely sound like me….
- I am thankful for bobby pins and cute head wrap around head bands. I may not use those two things everyday but they are always with me and sometimes are my lifesaver for bad hair days.
- I am thankful for organization. I function so much better when I am organized. I am working on being able to fly by the seat of my pants but for the most part I like organization.
- I am thankful for wise older ladies. I love their stories, their recipes, their life experiences they share with me, and the example they leave for me to try and follow.
- I am thankful for my team kids. They are brutally honest, so loving, my sunshine on bad days, and some of my biggest supporters.
- I am thankful for random break out dance sessions and the laughter those moments bring.
- I am thankful for texting and social networks. I am probably somewhat addicted to both of those things but I love that I can communicate whenever with people.
- I am thankful for early morning runs with my running buddy. They make me feel better, sometimes serve as counseling sessions for me, usually result in laughter, and i do my best thinking when I am running.
- I am thankful for quite moments alone in my car.God and I have the best conversations in those moments. I love them.
- I am thankful for my long distance friendships that seem to get better and better with time. I have an army of beautiful and amazing woman that I call my greatest friends standing behind me. They are spread out over several states but would drop anything to support and be there for me.
- I am thankful for my small town. I love that I can walk in any store we have here and know people. I love that there are no stop lights and its just simple here.
- I am thankful for my family. We are crazy and there are a lot of us. We don't talk very much and we aren't very close but we love each other and that is truly what matters.
- I am thankful for Ms. Murphy who started as one of my teachers and somehow became one of the greatest influences in my life. She has challenged me to be better, cried with me, listened to me pour my heart out, and celebrated big moments in my life. I am thankful for the seasons in life she has walked with me.
- I am thankful for Paul Mitchell the School Nashville. I figured who I was while I was a student there. I was taught how to give back, be the greatest I can be, and I figured out my career. I am thankful for the life long friendships I made there.
- I am thankful for the Bible and the fact that everything comes from those words.
- I am thankful I live in a country where I can freely worship Christ, read my Bible, teach others about Jesus, and be an open Christian.
- I am thankful for those who have supported my journey, prayed for me and my trip, stood beside me at fundraisers and church speakings.
- I am thankful for the people who have prayed for me throughout my life and guided me to be who I am today. I am thankful for the ones who even when I strayed and made mistakes still continued to pray for me and love me.
- I am thankful for my brother and sister. I love them and I am grateful to be their older sister.
- I am thankful for my iphone. I love it and it truly has my life in it.
- I am thankful for the squad God placed me on. I am on a team full of amazing and loving people. I can not wait to do life with them and love them.
- I am thankful for potatoes. They are my favorite thing to eat.
- I am thankful for thankful for cute sunglasses. They make me happy and are truly a good thing to have for the days you just dont want to wear makeup.
- I am thankful for mascara. Just one coat completely changes how I feel that day.
- I am thankful for good books to read. I love reading and I appreciate a book that can suck me in and make me tune out for a while.
- I am thankful for great music. Especially Casting Crowns. I love to worship through music.
- I am thankful for hand written notes and cards. Words of Affirmation is something I love getting and I love something hand written that I can read over and over again.
- I am thankful post it notes. I love using them and making a thousand little notes and sticking them every where.
- I am thankful for bottled water. It is such a little thing to us but such a huge thing to other countries.
- I am thankful for heartaches and mistakes because they have shaped the person I am. I am grateful that God has used every trial to make me the person he wants me to be.
- I am thankful for summer days at the pool and making memories.
- I am thankful for nights of doing nothing but watching TV with people I love.
- I am thankful for the little things that seem so little and mean so much.
- I am thankful for my cosmetology licenses. I had to jump a few hurdles and get over a lot of fear to get those and I am so thankful to have it.
- I am thankful for forgiveness.
- I am thankful for my education.
- I am thankful for Chad, Stephanie, Taylor, and Chade Everett. The love and the sense of belonging they give to me. It means more than I can ever write or say. My heart hurts every time I think about leaving them.
- I am thankful for cute shoes. I think you can wear anything you want but add cute shoes and that is when your outfit is complete.
- I am thankful for Bio Ionic. When I started working for them is when I really picked up the love for traveling. This company has brought me out of my shell and my comfort zone and I am so thankful.
- I am thankful for my mentors. Emily, Claudia, Niki, and to many more to name. They have laid a path that I want to follow and have shown me what hard work and dedication is.
- I am thankful for my Grammy who gave up her years of being able to relax and raised me. She took me and my brother and sister in and gave us a home.
- I am thankful for Planners and calendars. There is just something so fulfilling about buying a new one.
- I am thankful for candy. Really no other reason but because I love it.
- I am thankful for church and for a place that I can gather with other believers and worship Christ.
- I am thankful for my salvation and the fact that Jesus died so that I can live.
- I am thankful for homemade bracelets and the reminder that they give me.
- I am thankful for my cheer squad from middle school and high school. That is where I learned to enjoy life and love being a part of a team.
- I am thankful for hugs. To me there is nothing better than hugging someone you love.
- I am thankful for my personality and the fact that I am so much like my mama.
- I am thankful for fall weather. It is beautiful.
- I am thankful for scarves and the fact I can wear them with most things in my closet. Also that I can take them to 11 countries with me and dress up my outfit when I haven't washed it.
- I am thankful for the fact that after September it will be acceptable for me to go several days maybe weeks of not having to wash my hair.
- I am thankful for Love. I am thankful for the people God has placed in my life to love me and the people He has gave to me to love. My life is full of people that I feel so honored to love.
- I am thankful for my memory and the fact that most things stay in my head and serve as good memories.
- I am thankful for the fact that I have a job and can work.
- I am thankful for the fact that I could think of 55 things to be thankful for and really could keep going.

i love feeling thankful! I have so much to be thankful for and there are days when I just have to remind my self of that. I can't wait to launch and have different things to be thankful for like a bed and clean water. Thank you for supporting me and reading my blog.
