Love a life, Build a community, Serve a nation
So, being affectionately desirious of you, we were ready to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own selves, because you had become very dear to us.
– I Thessalonians 2:8
200 World Racers launched in September but we aren't the first group to launch and we wont be the last. Hundreds of world racers launch every year and they go into these countries and leave their mark on a there, on a ministry and they leave a legacy for us to come follow in. This month I am working with Malcolm who has us working with Camp Joy which is a place where guys from gangs and live on the streets can come and find refuge and build a relationship with our Father. We are also working with New Chapter which is an after school program ruin in a township, Pnuemlani. Thousands of people live in shacks all grouped together and it builds a community. My tean, BBH and another team, Team Ahava are together this month and we are coming in and picking up were L Squad left off and laying the foundation for the next squad to come in and glorify our God. WE walked through there and the kids were playing in piles of rubble which was once a house until it burned. They were barefooted and their smiles were big and could brighten any ones day! We all pile in a van to get to places and we pass nice cars that are taken such good care off and then in the next second we can pass a group of ladies with babies tied to their back witha towel or blanket and carrying bags from the store. Its in those moments I see the similarities of Africa and Home. How many rimes have I been in my car with 4 open seats and nice warm heat and passed people walking down the road, freezing?
South Africa is beautiful and nothing like I expected at all. I have a bed and i am warm as I sleep at night. I have hot water to shower with I can walk out of my room go sit on the hill next to the building and see the ocean. I signed up for this route because I was going to start out Kenya, this is much different from Kenya. I was sad about that change and there have been moments in the last week I've thought about that but God brought me to South Africa and I am right in the middle of His plan. I am walking where He has already walked. I am praying bold prayers to see the people and plans He has laid before me.
I want this year to not be about me and what I want and that is why I am trying to quiet myself. If that means to maybe not be the one always talking like I am at home, or maybe agreeing to day off plans that I wouldn't normally pick, I am going to do. I want to Hear his voice everyday and so I feel like I am entering a season of maybe stepping back from the spotlight and allowing Him to enter that place.
So, as I end this blog, my first blog on the race. I am asking for prayers. Prayers that I will hear Him, prayers that when I am tired and want to sleep I will still wake up early and have that time with my father, and prayers that this ministry our teams are working in will feel the love of Christ through the love we are showing.

**I am SO close to being fully funded. I know that $6,000 will be such a small amount for God to provide. So, I am asking all of you to please take a moment from supporting my journey and check out www.newchapter.co.za. I came on this race with more than enough money and stuff but these sweet children need that help. If you would like to donate any amount of money please let me know!! US dollars goes super far in South Africa. 🙂 Love you all!!
