MALAYSIA
What an absolutely gorgeous country! In the month of September my team and I were given the ministry of ATL (Ask The Lord). This means that we would ask the Lord how He wanted us to impact the community around us and we would go. God placed it on our hearts to reach out to the homeless and to encourage our squad through media and prayer. This ministry gave us the chance to travel all over Malaysia. We had the opportunity to visit Pangkor Island, Penang Island, and Kuala Lumpur where we got to see the tallest twin towers in the world.
The people we met captured my heart.
I had some really exciting times hiking in the jungle, worshiping and praying at Penang House of Prayer, and ministering to some amazing people I met on the streets and in taxis. Our squad coach’s friends, Tony and Margaret, who live in Penang took us under their wing for the month and became like family to us. My new team, HYPHENation (connecting the nations), flourished and I finally felt comfortable in my own skin. As my heart healed from Vietnam it grew for the people around me. Malaysia was a time of exploration and personal growth with the Lord. I found myself stepping out and being a better version of myself.
When times got rough I relied on God.
When relationships didn’t go exactly the way I wanted them to I relied on God.
When I felt that God had abandoned me and wasn’t there I relied on Him.
Malaysia was the fresh start I needed.
Here are some of my favorite pictures from my month 😀
