The one who touched my heart and broke it at the same time. Someone in need of my help, someone’s help, a mother’s help. 

I have written about this “one” child before. An orphan child. A boy who was at the orphanage when I visited for Christmas in South Korea. I don’t know his full name. But I still think about him and pray for him. For God to be his protective daddy and his comforting mother. 

For this little precious boy to come to know Christ. To be filled with peace and love and joy and know that He can rest and be safe in His Father’s loving arms. That God will provide for his every need.

 

Psalm 27:10- Even if my father and mother abandon me, the LORD will hold me close.

He had dark eyes and dark hair. Something about him radiated light and joy and even freedom in this orphanage. He didn’t get a gift that day or got something that was not really situated for his age, whatever it was. But God stirred my heart to return with another gift for this special little boy. So I returned and gave him the gift. The head of the orphanage said the boy’s mother was kind of in the picture but unable to care for him. He called the boy in. He joyfully took the gift and it was so precious how excited and happy he was to receive a small gift that would keep him warm in the wintertime. He rushed to show his friends. He was important. He was noticed. He was not forgotten. He was loved by God, His heavenly Father.

God provides for all our needs, no matter how small or big. Even if we feel forgotten, overlooked, or unimportant, or not enough. God is there. By your side. He cares for you. Open your heart and eyes to the love of your Heavenly Abba, your daddy who loves you more than you can ever think or know!

And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
