A letter to my future self, in honor of a class assignment some of the students did today. I wrote this letter in prayer to encourage myself for this amazing adventure God has called me on. I wrote it as if it is a letter from God, my heavenly Father, to me. I trust that where He calls, He will provide! Here it is, to my January self, when I will be leaving on the World Race (from New Jersey to Atlanta, Georgia!) to the 1st country on the Race of Costa Rica!!!
Dear January Jennifer,
- My precious daughter. See how I have provided. I promised I would provide and for all the times you doubted or got afraid, I continually, patiently, lovingly reaffirmed as
- much as you needed that I would see you through. That I would provide it ALL. I am a faithful God. I have called you here for a reason. The time of preparation was to build you up in Me so you could see you could trust Me.
I never lie. I created you. And you are good. You are enough in Me. I love you just how you are. You are fearfully and wonderfully made and undeniably beautiful. Every time I think of you, I smile and my heart pounds for you.
Don’t worry, do not fear. I am with you. I will calm you with my love and rejoice over you with singing.
Zephaniah 3:17 NIV The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.”
(same as above-NLT)- “For the LORD your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.”
When you were a little girl, you were in dance class. Your pink ballet slippers are gone now, or lying somewhere forgotten and dust covered instead of shiny satin. It doesn’t matter. I am giving you new shoes. No more dust. They are clean, brand new shoes. I am giving you back your spirit of fullness and joy and fearlessness. You have all you need in Me. Though you have forgotten, it’s true regardless.
So arise, my daughter. Get ready for this epic adventure. You don’t have to fear. I will keep you safe. I have called you to do this. And I have perfectly equipped you. Be who you are, my beautiful, loving daughter that I made uniquely and sweetly. Your heart is graceful, your confidence is in Me. And your light can never be extinguished.
Your heart is anointed with the oil of gladness. Your eyes are open to the adventure ahead. You are ready. Stay close to Me and never doubt. I am with you always, even to the end of the age.
You never need to doubt because of my promise. Nothing in the world or out of it can keep me from you. Nothing can stop my love for you. You are my beloved.
I love you more than you can dream, think of or imagine on this earth. Keep sharing the love I show you with others and never fear because I will pour out all you need to overflowing.

God has called me on this journey and I step forward in faith! I am trusting God to provide all my needs, even when it seems impossible! “For nothing is impossible with God!” (Luke 1:37)
