Hello from Cambodia, “The Land of Wonder”!
Goodness, Cambodia…where do I start? There’s the glistening emerald green and sapphire marshlands. The never ending expanses of rice fields, separated by towering palm trees, and floral bushes. The tribal music that dances into your ears, as you drive through villages. Even the air smells like heaven! Blooming flowers overwhelm your senses with just one breath. That is unless you come across a free-range cow…but even that’s adventurous in its own way. Cambodia is a pretty “easy to love” place, and I’ve already received so much restoration of the soul just basking in it’s wonder!
Between Thailand and Cambodia, there were team changes within my squad, and I was placed on a new all girls team. You can check out my new teammates by scrolling down a bit and clicking the links to their pages on the left hand side. We’re all a bunch of goof-balls, and wind up spending most of our time laughing at each other’s ridiculousness. I’ve been learning a lot about loving selflessly, and bless my sisters hearts for being so patient with me.
The name we chose for our team is “Zion”. When God spoke “Zion” over our team he promised us kingdom, wonder, empowerment, and rest. We’re learning together what it is to be deeply rooted by The Lord’s streams of living water within us. We are his wells, the dwelling place of the living God! His land is filled with endless wonders, and life abundant!
For ministry this month, we’re serving in a local Christian orphanage, and teaching English in a private school down the street from our home. The children at the orphanage are bundles of joy! Please be praying for each of their hearts. I’m honestly at a loss for words with those kids right now…I’m hoping to write a separate blog about what God’s doing there soon! Jesus is just so good.
Well, that was pretty short and sweet, but I just wanted to update y’all! I’m fasting from social media, texting, and calling home during my time in Cambodia, so if you’re wanting to reach me, send a prayer my way. 😉 I love you all so much!
