Dear family and friends,
The hump month is officially past!
My squad and I have just entered month six of the race, and we are over the halfway mark for coming home. I really can’t explain it, but a whole new set of emotions settled in this last month, as we realized we weren’t so far away from returning to the states. We were excited, and nervous all at the same time! With spiritual attacks, many of us were fighting homesickness, or the fear of being home. But God is with us, and we are moving forward in the confidence of his love for us!
My team and I have less than a month left in Jeffrey’s, Bay, South Africa, and our desire is to finish out strong! This community has really been so much to us, and we have loved the ministries we’ve served in, and all of the friends and family God’s blessed us with. The family whose hosted us we’ve grown very close to; I know we’ll have cherished relationships with them forever. For ministry this last month, we will continue in building the school that I mentioned in another blog, serving at a horse farm (scooping that poop!), doing children’s ministry with abused/neglected kids, volunteering at a mother and baby clinic, and teaching “Jesus our Teacher” classes at a local high school.
The very beginning of March, as a squad (all 50 of us crazies!), we will be flying together to Nicaragua for our last stop on the race. After getting there, many of us are meeting up with our parents for a week long “mini trip” called the “Parent Vision Trip”. Aka I get to see my mom!! :)) I’m so excited, and anticipating it. I’ve missed her A LOT. The trip will be a chance for us to show our parents what the “race life” is like, and they’ll have the opportunity to serve alongside us. God has lots of really cool things in store for all of us kids with our parents that week.
After our parents leave, we will have approximately three months left on the World Race. I do not yet know what our ministry will be, or where I will be located, but as soon as I can inform y’all I will.
Please be praying for our last month here in South Africa, for endurance to finish, and for peace over our hearts in leaving a place we love so dearly. Please also be praying for safe travels, and for spiritual attacks of fear and homesickness that are stirring as we near the end. Finally, please keep the parents vision trip in your prayers as well, for our parents hearts to be protected and moved by God, and for the transition we’re making into our last stretch of the race.
Thank you so much to the prayer warriors, who have so faithfully sought the Lord for us! We feel your prayers, and they really do mean so much to us. Thank you for holding my hand through this, and for loving me and caring for me crazy well. I can’t wait to see each of you, and share with you all the things God’s been doing. I love you all lots! Blessings to you.
Love,
Jen 🙂
P.S. Please Facebook message, comment below, or email me if you have a prayer request. It can be anything! I want to be with you in your walk with God as well. 🙂
