If you didn’t read the title in the Pitch Perfect style, go watch this for 6 seconds (you can rent the DVD later so only 6 seconds, ok?).
So about 2 weeks ago, I was getting settled into this new routine of life in Fort Mill and realized I had done very little to fund raise in August (honestly because it flew by) or written very few updates on this site. I started rereading this particular entry and began thinking about how much the Lord has changed my heart this summer already and began dreaming about the person I’d be looking in the mirror at this time next year by just abiding in Jesus.
And then something amazing happened after that brief moment of dreaming with Jesus, the flood gates opened in my heart and in hearts around me to see in 16 days the funding for this journey over double (it’s still in route, don’t fret — but we’re at 37% funded at $6,178). That’s almost half way y’all. That’s only $10,384 away from fully funded. THAT’S CRAZY.
From day one of this World Race journey $16,562 seemed like an enormous number (it still does). I knew the only way it would be raised is through the power of Jesus and his blessing on this journey. I have daily been amazed at how he’s blowing my tiny mind and small prayers out of the water with his abundance of blessings and constant gift of joy in each step of obedience.
We still have a long way to go and more blessings to be humbled by, but gosh, this journey is incredible.
I don’t get to experience the heart behind every check written and every dollar sacrificed so I just wanted to take a second to say thank you to those who have already given.
To me, that’s 6,178 prayers.
To me, that’s 6,178 individual proclamations that Jesus is the hope of the world.
To me, that’s 6,178 steps of obedience.
To me, that’s 6,178 hearts saying yes to sharing the Gospel with the world.
To me, that’s 6,178 hearts creating unity in Christ to grow the Church.
To me, that’s 6,178 investments in this Race that we’re going on together.
To me, it’s never been about the funding “goal” — it’s been about Jesus using those investments to build His Church.
I want to say a huge and humbled thank you to each family, person, and heart that has given toward my World Race journey so far because even though I may not know what the next year holds on this Race, I do know each of you are going with me. In heart and soul, those 6,178 prayers and growing are traveling with every step I take — I can’t wait to share this journey with you.
Thank you.
