I heard about World Race several years ago when my brother, Michael, returned from a mission trip to Kenya when he told my family of an encounter he had with a previous world racer on his trip. The Lord has allowed me to watch and support missions for many friends and family members but I had never felt the desire to travel with the purpose of missions…until now.
In the last year, that has changed as I currently serve in ministry and get to see lives changed each week but I have not been able to get the idea of the World Race out of my head and heart — and taking Jesus to not just one place but around the world, to a multitude of people, to be apart of something so much bigger than myself and the local church I get to serve alongside. I get to encourage people daily about how to go out and take the Gospel to people in our community, which is very important, but I feel that there is more — more for me to do to actively reach people far from God and teach them how to follow Jesus with each next step they take even when that step is around the world!
I firmly believe that where the Lord calls, He equips. I can’t wait to see the miracle He performs in my heart and life as he equips me and my team to love and encourage the people we will encounter on our route. Please join me and my team in praying for Jesus to equip us, use us, and love extravagantly as we run the World Race!
