Hello Kid's Creek!

I have been living in Malaysia for over a week now. I actually am living in a warehouse. The floors and walls are cement. I'll be honest, my body aches every time I wake up. I do miss my cozy bed most this month.

Our bedroom and classroom

We have a small fridge and a microwave for our meals. Cooking is a bit difficult since microwave dinners and hot pockets don't exist in our town. So I have been eating mostly poached and scrambled eggs, peanut butter and jelly and I found some Campbell's cream of chicken soup. My friend Kara made noodles, cheese and butter yesterday. If you have any creative food ideas for my microwave "kitchen", send them my way.

Our "kitchen"

We are teaching English in this dark warehouse this month. We cannot talk about Jesus, pray or read our Bibles in front of anyone though. We must be very careful because this country is Muslim. In fact it reminds me so much of home in Westland on the border of Dearborn. Except there is no snow here. It's very hot this Christmas!

To be Malay means to be Muslim and to be Muslim means you cannot choose Christ. We have been told to be the Light in a dark world. And so we will do that by our Love. We will smile, encourage and make new friends not by our own doing, but because the Light of the world lives in us.

You too can be the Light of the world at your school and neighborhood! Because if you know Jesus, His light is already in you.

Pray that our Light would shine bright to our students this month.

The only Christmas tree we could come up with.  It's more like a Christmas stick!
