I want to give you an update on my month so far here in Swaziland. Our entire squad is staying here at El Shaddai, a children's home in Mbabane, Swaziland. Everyone has different tasks and there is much work to be done. The projects are working in the garden, caring for the babies, organizing donations, administrative work, manual labor for the boys and organizing and working in the preschool. I'm in the preschool mostly this month, and so far it's been a great opportunity to build relationships with the teachers, Tembe and Tengetile. The kids have two new classrooms just this week so there is a whole new routine for the children. There is still much work to be done for the new classrooms. Hopefully we will be able to paint them both and finish some teacher's materials by the end of our stay here.
Everyone has been given a buddy to help tutor every day from 3 to 5. My buddies name is Xolile. It's pronounced Colilay and we've had so much fun together already. Xolile is 11 and in grade 5. She wants to be a teacher some day and loves to learn about the Bible. She is a great student and just passed her term. Just last night we got to cuddle and watch The Mighty Ducks together.
Please pray for El Shaddai and for the children to do well in school. Any of the kids are struggling and need to get their grades up. Pray for the upcoming transitions at the home to be smooth and positive. Pray for Xolile to do well in school and that she would grow up to be a great teacher.
