Now when I say DIY, I actually mean do it yourself. The truth is I don't know how to quill, but I'm looking at Pinterest and seeing the most beautiful artwork using this technique and I would like to look into this more when I return home in 3 months.
This last month, I was really moved by the impact the ministry we were working with had in the local and surrounding communities. I was captured by their vision and I wanted to help the missionaries be sustainable with what they were doing in Romania by helping to support them. My dear friends, Ellie and Ancusta made around 60 bracelets while we were there. My friend, Tavi, jarred up some of his honey and I made labels for it. And then Mariana made quilled cards and bookmarks. All of these things were items anyone would love to have. We had our Parent Vision Week, so it was a great way for the parents to invest in what God is doing in Draganasti and brings something home to tell their stories. Even my own mother was inspired and told me that she now knew how God wants to use her and her talents in art when she returned home. She wants to use her art and abilities to support missionaries like in Romania and other places around the world, just like Mariana, Ellie, Ancusta and Tavi.
So my challenge is to you as well. Ask the Lord if he would like to use your talents to help support missionaries around the world be sustainable where God has called them. Maybe you could learn a new talent like Mariana to bless others too.
