When we were in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, I went to the Central Market and saw some fun coats sewn from 2 identical pashimas for $13.  But I decided, why spend $13, when I could do it myself for $6 in Malaysia.

So first thing you need to do is buy 2 identical pashmina scarves for 10 ringit a piece.  20 ringit total.  (about 6 bucks).  It will make a great project for your 3 hour late night bus ride to Kuala Lipis.  You will probably need your head lamp.

Sew the two lengths together half way up.

Then fold over the two pashminas and sew the sides of one pashmina together starting at the ends.  Stop where you feel comfortable for holes for the arms.  Repeat on the other side making sure to keep both holes the same size.

Even though you probably were doing the project for yourself, find someone to give it away to instead.  And then when you do it again for yourself, give that one away too.  Handmade items always feel more special when you give them away.
