Yet again God’s plan blows away my expectations! We were told that we would be teaching English again this month in Malaysia and again I was disappointed. I knew God had good plans for us but this month has been nothing that I expected.

After a few days of rest in Pangkor Island with my squad, we arrived at our contact’s in Gua Musang, Malaysia. Our team and Sammie Jo’s team were to have the same contact but live at two different locations. The plan was to have a briefing with the Kumar’s then our team would travel to our location about 2 hours away.  Briefing was awesome! The Kumar’s shared with us their testimony and asked for us to share each of ours in return. They encouraged us, made declarations over us, and prayed for us. They have beautiful hearts, they love God so much and are lead by the Spirit in everything they do.

Our team was supposed to go to Kuala Lipis within a day or 2 of arriving but instead we stayed for 2 weeks. During this time we rested and worked on a few projects such as Painting the Kumar’s home, recording skits for teaching material, cutting out newspaper articles and a few others. The first week we had no classes and the second week I ended up teaching the Kumars’ kids Spanish (I love Spanish)!

This past Friday (the 16th) we headed to Kuala Lipis via train. The ride was beautiful! We are staying with a Hindu family of 12! They welcomed us with soda and chocolate cake and they continue to invite us into their living room to hang out with the fam! We spent 2 days in a small village (1 hour outside of Lipis) to work with a church. We painted a mural and taught children’s Sunday school. It was a lot of fun and we met some great people! Monday – Thursday we will be teaching English back here in Kuala Lipis. I personally will only be teaching 2 of the classes because of rotation. Tomorrow will be my first class teaching the kiddos!

This month has looked completely different than I expected! It has been amazing and I am so grateful for our time here in Malaysia. I feel so blessed that we have been able to travel all over Malaysia this month. We started in Pangkor Island for a few days of rest as a squad, then we lived in Gua Musang for 2 weeks, had a 2 day vacation in Cameron Highlands, spent a weekend in a village with the indigenous tribe, 1 week we are living in Kuala Lipis and next week for final debrief we will spend 5 days on Penang Island before we fly out of Kuala Lumpur! I can’t believe we only have 1 week left until we head to our final debrief!
