7:50a Prayer with the team
8a Breakfast-Usually cornflakes but every few days Ada treats us to pancakes!
9a-12p Ministry changes daily. Sometimes we have worship and intersession together with our ministry staff, Prayer and worship on the bay (one of my favorites!), Special needs school, prayer walk around the neighborhood or picking up trash.
1p Lunch! Usually the largest meal of the day. Varies between spaghetti noodles with vegetables, rice and beans, Spaghetti with hotdogs (way better than it sounds), watermelon most lunches and corn tortillas every meal. Every once in awhile we have flour tortillas SO GOOD!
3-5p Ministry changes daily. Playing with the kids at the orphanage, Playing and praying for the kids at the children’s hospital, Visiting bars and praying with the prostitutes who work there, Singing and visiting with the elderly at the nursing home or Visiting the families in the dump.
6p Dinner usually consisting of eggs and beans. Sometimes it’s like a scrambled omelet. We had “Taco Bell and Dunkin Donuts” night with burritos for dinner and homemade donuts for desert last week! So good!
7-9p Ministry changes daily. The park ministry is one of my favorites at night. Some play basketball or “futbol”. A few others and I hang out with the break dancers (teen boys) and they show us some dance moves! A lot of fun! Other nights we go to churches and do praise and worship and/or share our testimony. Fridays is “family night”. First Friday it was a time of worship and Paul gave his testimony. Then we had Karaoke night and last night was “Guatemalan night” learning about the culture, they served us traditional Guatemalan food, and then we listened to music from different cultures around the country. Awesome Christian music in every genre! Even some techno! Dance Party! Family night is always a good time!
We end the day with “feedback”. A time where our team sits down together and we go over our day, our highs and lows, and we encourage each other and give constructive feedback as a way to calling each other up into greater women!
