Have you ever tried to put a puzzle together without knowing what picture you were trying to create? NOT EASY! Life can be that way sometimes. We have bits and pieces of our lives put together but we have some big holes and some pieces scattered off on the sides. It’s almost like a guessing game. A trial of errors, trying to find the purpose of our 100 years and figure out what our lives are supposed to look like. Here’s what I’m learning: it’s not my job to put my puzzle together; it’s impossible. My job is to put all my pieces in Gods hands, and to let him put the pieces together to create the picture for my life that he planned before I was ever born. My life was created to bring Him glory. That’s what brought me to the World Race.
For some time I felt that God had placed missions on my heart, and felt pretty certain missions were in my future. So, when a friend mentioned the World Race to me, I thought I’d look into it! After a lot of praying and waiting, and praying, and more waiting, I felt God leading me to apply. So I went for it, and committed to walking threw every door God opened.
I could go into great detail here and explain every single thought, question, doubt, problem and prayer that God beautifully answered during the process of applying, but I’ll just say this: I am blown away by Gods faithfulness and overwhelmed at how He’s shown me that even my smallest concerns are important to Him.
My decision to trust Him and go for Him comes from 1 Peter 2:9. “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” It is an absolute privilege and miracle to be in His wonderful light. And from this place, I’ve learned, it is an honor “THAT I MAY” take that light into the darkness, and share His love with those who haven’t found it yet.
“Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16) Jesus said, “Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give. (Matthew 10:8) I’m ready to give.
I’m learning, as God puts my puzzle pieces together, that the picture He wants to create for my life is Jesus. He wants to make my life look like Jesus’ life. My purpose, my plan, my calling is to seek Him, know Him, and to love Him with everything I’ve got. Right now, that means the World Race.
