Last month in Seronga, Botswana I was blessed to be in complete African wilderness. My team and I were surrounded by wild animals, hippos, black mambas and hundreds of bugs. We had no internet connection and were completely cut of from civilization. I experienced indescribable clear starry nights and breathtaking sunsets. Gods creation left me marveled and astounded more than once. I am not even trying to understand, how He paints the sky different every day and let’s me be a part of it. How gracious He is.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all the nations baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:19-20

Our ministry included evangelism to the surrounding small villages of Botswana, bringing the Good News of Jesus Christ to the people. It was exactly how I pictured this World Race journey, being in the middle of nowhere, a couple of crazy Jesus followers, their bibles and the Holy Spirit. Wandering from village to village we were more then amazed how God worked. People were hungry to hear about the word of God and curious what this group of white women had to tell them.

One man named John fell on his knees, weeping while our ministry host gifted him with a bible. It was the most precious and humbling scene I have ever experienced. It was like we just handed him the most valuable and priceless possession he has. I have never seen anyone rejoice so much while holding the Word of God in their hands.
While we were praying for him and his family his wife started crying, which once again made me see what impact God has on His people. Here in a tiny village somewhere in the North of Botswana a family is experiencing the power and love of the Creator of the universe.

A couple of days earlier we ministered to a young man, by the name of Ice cube. We were sitting in the middle of a drug deal in his little hut front yard, while God let us be part of a life changing journey in his life. Just like Jesus we were sitting in the middle of a sinful mess, sharing about the grace of eternal life. I always wonder if men like Ice cube would know about the life changing power available to them, would they change their ways and life the way God intended for them. Leaders and life changers that could transform whole villages back to life with the authority of Christ. Men hold such high authority and value in the Kingdom of God. I pray that Ice cube will grasp the honor that is available to him.
We continued to minister to him and on our last day we were back in his yard, surrounded by his mother, brother, cousin, niece and other neighbors. It was a picture of Gods pursued, while the family was sitting on their self made chairs, searching their newly gifted bibles for answers about eternal life and repentance. I didn’t want to leave. I was so honored to be part of planting those seeds. On our last day in Seronga Ice Cube brought his family to church and I felt like I just gained another brother. God is just midblowing, unpredictable amazing.

December was a beautiful month of sowing and building Gods Kingdom. I will be forever grateful for Willie and his family, the hospitality they provided to us and the evangelism training we were able to receive. We had nightly bible studies and an unforgettable Christmas with a bonfire, silly games and delicious homemade food.

Seeing our host and his family follow the call of Christ and leave everything behind to do the Great Commission is more than inspiring. It was an honor to walk alongside this beautiful family and experience Gods mighty hand in the middle of tiny villages in the wilderness in Seronga, Botswana.

Don’t ever put God in a box. He is so much more and so much bigger than any limits we might put on Him. Believe, have faith and be willing, that is all He ever asks for.

Love Jen
