And now that my Race has come to an end, it is time for my final “Remember that one time…” blog.  Enjoy reading about some shenanigans from the continent of Africa!

Swaziland
Video Killed the Radio Star played on repeat for hours while we got internet
I got to attend a sports ministry conference
I tried to eat a handful of pap (cornmeal and water…kind of like rice or mashed potatoes, but completely different) in a minute (and failed)
We popped pop corn in a pot that took up all 4 stove burners
Our van had to be push started when we were trying to get home from town
I got proposed to by a toddler (well…his mom said it for him, but close enough)
We discovered that roosters don’t sleep…and they certainly don’t just crow as the sun rises

South Africa
I threw up for the first time on the Race
I witnessed an adoption
My train stopped in the middle of the tracks for 45 minutes for no apparent reason
Children got me to sing in front of people…willingly
I ate my first McDonald’s cheeseburger since kindergarten, and my first ever double cheeseburger
I changed my first dirty nappy (diaper)
I saw wild penguins
I got a tour of the World Cup stadium in Cape Point
Our first flight out of Africa was cancelled causing chaos in our journey home
