If you have been following my World Race journey from the beginning, then you probably know that when I signed up I was planning on going to Ireland in July. At Training Camp we were told that our route was changed, instead of Ireland we were going to Turkey. There was some disappointment, but in the sense of, 'I was excited for Ireland, and God had other plans, so now it's time to get excited about Turkey' type of disappointment (to varying degrees, I can't really speak for everyone in one description). About a week ago we were told that plans were changing again. Because of the civil unrest in Turkey it was deemed unsafe for us to travel there right now, and so month 1 became a mystery. I really wasn't upset or disappointed at all that we weren't going to Turkey. I was prepared to go there and pour my heart into ministry if that's where God led us, but my heart wasn't completely set on it. After a week of waiting in anticipation we were informed that we are headed to ALBANIA.
I am incredibly excited to be traveling there so soon! It's a small country bordering Greece, and more than half of the population are Muslim. I still don't know what my team's ministry will be while I'm there, but I'm excited to see where God leads!
Financial update: I officially have $8,329.44 in my account. I unofficially have approximately $1,300 still to be processed. With a wee bit of rounding that brings me to $9,630 in my account! This means I have $1,370 to raise before October 1 to reach my next deadline and $5,870 to raise to be fully funded!
