My month in Swazi felt rather uneventful as a whole, which is why it has been about 3-4 months and I haven’t written anything about it. Though I know some of my followers are probably a bit curious about what I did and how it impacted me. SO, here’s a bit on it, super late, but better late than never, right?
The first week of ministry this month was the most significant for me. I was helping with and partly attending a sports ministry conference. As a footballer I knew I wanted to use my sport for ministry in the future. And it’s the world’s sport, so almost anywhere I go it would be able to work. I just never had much of an idea of what it looks like, and what possibilities there would be for that. I figured I would be able to figure it out later, but helping with this sports conference made it significantly easier for me.
After that week just being around sports ministry minded people and learning about various opportunities I became very excited about using sports ministry in the future. And it somehow managed to make me even more excited about the World Cup (which did not disappoint).
This month just got me thinking more about the future, and basically handed me tools on a silver platter just begging me to step up and learn to wield them. Even though most of the month I felt pretty useless, and even during the conference I didn’t feel particularly useful, it did help me with preparing for taking steps forward and gave me guidance for my next steps in America.
So, since I’m writing this so late I can say that I am set up to be a coach and will be getting my coaches license very soon. If I hadn’t been at that conference in Swazi I don’t know if I would be this committed, but I’m very excited, and only slightly terrified.
