I am currently just outside beautiful Kiev, Ukraine enjoying debrief with the squad. I am excited about my first experience in Eastern Europe. This area was once the heart of the Soviet Union and it feels like what I would imagine Russia feels like. People are stoic, and look a little depressed, but the Lord is able to change even the hardest hearts.
I learned that my team will be spending this month in Cornesh, Moldova which is just outside the capital of Moldova which is Chisinau. I am pumped to be working with New Hope International focusing on 18-24 year olds, and 13-17 year olds who are too old for the orphanage and have nowhere to go. There is a crises in Moldova right now with human trafficking. We hope to help make a difference in these young women and men’s lives by reinforcing their identity in Christ. The girls are targets of this trafficking and the boys sometimes end up in jail. So New Hope brings these children a new hope for a better future.
