Hope
I think hope is an awesome word. Especially in a world that seems so hopeless.
People die from violence, poor nutrition, disease, and accidents every minute of every day. Apparently, the world’s economy is crumbling based on the fact that the U.S.’s economy is bad. Governments across the world are doing wrong out of a sense of doing right, or bringing “death not life.” I use quotes around death not life because we on the World Race use the phrase “bring life or speak life not death” commonly, actually daily. It is a great slogan! The Bible reads like this… The thief comes ONLY to steal and kill and destroy. John 10:10a I added the boldness to the word “only” because that is the devil’s only purpose, and we humans have fallen for his “death bringing” tactics for thousands of years. Even things that most Westerners view as good things such as: capitalism, consumerism, and wealth bring more than their fair share of death and destruction from sweatshops, deforestation, and the like. Most Americans, including myself, have been major contributors to the world’s problems, and I know there is a better way.
The Way, an early name for the Church, shows us how to have hope in hopeless times. The Church is a world wide web of hope for the hopeless. Yes, I know the church makes mistakes and even sometimes things that are not the church get labeled as the church, but it/we are the world’s only hope. We “BRING LIFE” like in the rest of John 10:10 ” I (Jesus) came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” Now that is what I am talkin’ bout – that’s hope, that’s truth, and He is LOVE. I am so blessed to be able to see Love in action all over the world. I get to hang out with Jesus’ family in 11 different countries, and as I am hanging out with brothers and sisters in Tanzania, East Africa, my fifth country, I am impressed with how God’s family shows me love and hope. In the Church here when someone decides to follow Jesus they act just like the people on the Price Is Right. They get pumped, just like the Angels in Heaven.
The Tanzanian Family has been great to me, and I love them and this “City of Rocks” called Mwanza, which is beautiful. One quick story of love can be read about on Angi Francesco’s blog page. See the story about the orphan Sara. By the way, Angi Francesco needs some more support – if anyone has some cash, throw it her way.
I hope that you all have lots of hope because hope rocks, and you can never get too much of it, if your hope is placed in the only trust-worthy place for hope which is the Lord of Lords. JESUS!!
