It has been an incredible month, but it is now time to move on to our next location. I have become very attached to these children and it will be hard to say goodbye. I will miss waking up every morning to drive the kids to school, going on walks, helping them with their homework, playing whatever, watching movies, and putting them to bed after a Bible story. Oh yeah, driving the bus will be a little hard to let go as well 🙂
As an only child, this month gave me an insight on what it is like to have little brothers and sisters. Not only that, but it also has given me a peek at what being a parent might be like someday. However, the best part about this month was being able to love these kids and let them know that they are worth something. Jesus loves them and they are the sons and daughters of God. Oh how beautiful that is!
They may not remember us in a year or even in a couple months for that matter. I don’t care. All I want and pray for is that we will have made an eternal difference in this place. A difference where the Spirit worked through us in ways that we may never know.
The chance of me ever seeing these kids again is next to zero. Even though they may never remember me, I will certainly remember them. I thank God that I had the opportunity to live amongst these kids and share in their lives. I learned so much in just one month. They taught me to always have a good attitude no matter what the circumstances are and that material possessions are not what is important. There are many more lessons that I have learned but I can’t seem to find a way to express them in words.
My team leaves for La Paz on Sunday morning. In La Paz, we will be meet with the squad and there may be team changes before we head to Albania. Please keep that process in your prayers and I will be sure to keep you updated!
