Top Ten Things I Didn’t Expect in Australia
10.) I didn’t expect to live in a rainforest. In the past when I thought about Australia, I
always thought of it as being a dry desert type environment. Not true here!
9.) I didn’t expect to have to wake up one of my teammates in
the middle of the night to have a buddy to go with me to the bathroom.
8.) I didn’t expect to have to walk 4 kilometers in 115 degree F
heat just to get to town.
7.) I didn’t expect to sleep with spiders, mice, ants and
lizards on a nightly basis. (There is an ant crawling on my computer as I type
this blog!!)

5.) I didn’t expect to see a girl wearing a swimsuit to church,
but it’s hot out here and I guess that’s how they roll.
4.) I didn’t expect my biggest blessing this month to be a fan!
3.) I didn’t expect to have to set around in the dark every
night because we have to turn off all the lights at 7:00 p.m. in order to keep
out as many extra bugs as possible.
2.) I didn’t expect to be only a short walk from one of the most
beautiful clear and cool freshwater rivers.
