Thank You!!  Thank You!!  Thank You!!

God has been blessing me so much with amazing financial supporters in this journey.  I wanted to give you all an update on where I stand with 4 months left before leaving.

               $13,800  covers trip cost

$  1,700  est. cost of vaccinations, Insurance and domestic flights

         Total Needed: $15,500

Amount Received:  $11,780
          Still Need: $3,720 – that’s it!!

I have never been worried about God providing for my fundraising needs.  However, I’m struggling right now with trusting Him to meet my personal financial needs.  In order to leave for this trip I have to break my lease on my apartment.  I have already talked with my apartment management about my situation and they will not wave the fees associated with breaking my lease.  I will have to pay $2,400 in fees to break my lease.  I will also have to pay $325 in fees to break my phone and internet contracts.  Lately I’ve been worried about coming up with the money to cover these expenses.  See I don’t feel at all bad about asking people to donate to Adventures in Missions on my behalf for the trip, but I feel horrible about asking people to donate to me personally to help with covering these extra expenses.

Pride.  I know that I’m just being prideful.  I don’t want people to think I’m not financially responsible.  I want people to think of me as a super successful woman without a care in the world.  But I don’t have a few thousand dollars laying around.  And I’ve come to realize that God wants to provide for my needs.  And not only the fundraising needs, but EVERY need.  In my daily study a couple of days ago I read the following verses:

Luke 11: 5-9 (Message)
“Then he said,
“Imagine what would happen if you went to a friend in the middle of the
night and said, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread. An old friend
traveling through just showed up, and I don’t have a thing on hand.’  “The
friend answers from his bed, ‘Don’t bother me. The door’s locked; my
children are all down for the night; I can’t get up to give you
anything.’  “But
let me tell you, even if he won’t get up because he’s a friend, if you
stand your ground, knocking and waking all the neighbors, he’ll finally
get up and get you whatever you need.  “Here’s what I’m saying:   Ask and you’ll get;   Seek and you’ll find;   Knock and the door will open.”
So I’m asking publicly for God to provide for my needs.  Whether He does that through others giving or through other means, I know He will provide because I’m asking and the word says to ask and you’ll get.
