It was such a treat to work with the Maori making the hangi,
but the real treat happened later in the afternoon.  During the welcome ceremony of the conference
the Maori people have a special way of welcoming people onto their land.  They ask us to be in the front of the
conference goers since we helped make the meal. 
It was an experience.  The history
of the Maori is very barbaric.  They were
even cannibals back in the day.  So they
have a lot of very fierce and war like ceremonies.  The welcome ceremony is just that.

Another tradition is a war dance called the Haka.  It was so awesome to watch!!  God definitely blessed us by allowing us to
experience the true culture of New Zealand with the natives.  An experience I’ll never forgot and hope to
repeat in each country.
