We are still in Crystal
Springs, Matamata New Zealand. Our week
of training ends today (Saturday). It
has been amazing this week to see my World Race family again and to reconnect
with my teammates! God has some amazing
things in store for my team and I can’t wait to let God unleash Himself through
us here!!
the North Island. My team is partnering with 3 other teams in this ministry. We will be volunteering for two Christian
conferences. The first conference is Jubilee
(www.ywamjubilee.com) and the second is Call2All (www.call2all.org). I can’t wait to pour into the Christians in
this nation. Most Kiwis (New Zealanders)
have heard the gospel but only 7-10% live for Christ. This country is a lot like American in that
there is a lot of materialism and selfishness. I’m praying for an awakening amongst the Christians we are serving this
month so it will start a ripple effect.
Besides volunteering for all aspects of the conferences we
will also get to do outreach on the beach in Tauranga. On Wednesday we had a day of adventure in
Tauranga and it’s a beautiful beach resort area where many people go for vacation or as they say holiday. While we were there on Wednesday we interviewed
some people about what they thought about the Kingdom of God
(watch for the video soon) and many people didn’t have an answer or told us we
wouldn’t want to know what they thought. The one Christian couple we talked to were even afraid to share their
opinion of faith even though we told them we were believers. God is going to do great this through these
conferences!
We will be tent camping at a Baptist University in Tauranga, but
will have access to bathrooms, showers and a kitchen! Yippee!! And we only have a 1 hour bus ride from here to our ministry site (some
teams have an 11 hour bus ride)! Our
housing is 25 minutes from the ministry site so we are not quite sure how we
will get there everyday, but we are confidante that God will provide a way!!
I’m also unsure how often I’ll be able to get online this
month. I will try my hardest to find an
internet café, but know that even if I can’t communicate with you often, you
are all in my thoughts and prayers. God
has been providing little bits of comfort for me and I’ve slept great every
night despite the fact that we have been in tents this week as well.
Here is a picture of me at the beach in Tauranga.
