Dear Family and Friends
Greetings! I pray that this letter finds you and your family well and I pray that God continues to bless and use you. The Lord has been so faithful! He is doing wonderful things and I know that He will continue to be faithful to finish the good work He has begun. As I write this letter to share with you the wonderful opportunities God has blessed me with, I cannot help but to be overwhelmed with excitement and expectancy of the miraculous power God wants to unleash in not only my life but yours as well.
For many years I have had a heart to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with the nations. I have always had a desire to serve those who are less fortunate as God calls us to be His “hands and feet”. In the summer of 2002 I took my very first international mission trip to the Dominican Republic. There we feed the poor, ministered to the homeless and needy, played with orphans and helped build churches. And it was there that I knew that a life of service was what the Lord had called me to.
After many years of life lessons and preparation, the Lord has graced me with the opportunity to be part of the Great commission to spread the Gospel to the ends of the Earth. In July 2013, I will join a group of young adults to take part in THE WORLD RACE. The World Race is a program with Adventures In missions were young adults leave home to go on an 11 month mission trip to 11 countries to share the gospel and show the love of Christ. Honduras Nicaragua Costa Rica Philippines Thailand Cambodia India Nepal Kenya Uganda Rwanda
We will partner with different ministries in their efforts to impact the world. A few activities we will be involved in include:
Working with orphans, ministering in prisons, praying for hospital patients, working with organizations to fight sex trafficking, working with children with disabilities and church planting.
This is an amazing opportunity, but it’s important to understand that I cannot do this alone. I am hoping you will partner with me and prayerfully consider supporting me in this mission.
Support I will Need:
Prayer Warriors- These are people who will commit to praying for me while I am prepping for my trip and while I am away.
Financial Support- I have a blog that has a link to my donation page (http://jeanetteminor.theworldrace.org) , I will need to raise $15,500 for the trip which covers: air fare, travel visas, all my food and living costs for the year. It is my goal to be fully funded before I leave in July of 2013. I am looking for 30 people who will partner with me and commit to donating $30 a month for the next 12 months toward my mission fund. I am also looking for people to make one time donations of any amount. Go to the blog site and click on DONATE! located on the left hand side. This is a tax deductable donation.
Personal Finances- My birthday and Christmas will be happening before I leave. What a wonderful time to give a gift donation!!! I will need to purchase travel insurance, vaccinations and travel gear as I will have no income while on The World Race. I will be selling my personal possessions and will be living out of a back pack for 11 months while on the mission field. My goal is to raise $3000 to cover these expenses and I pray some of you will be lead to donate to my personal fund.
