The Lord has been teaching me so much here on the world race and I not good at blogging but I know if I don’t write these things down I will forget them.

So here they are!  11 golden lessons from my race so far……..

1. God is God

God is sovereign.  He reigns.  He does what He pleases and all glory belongs to Him.

2. Faith

Its easy to trust God when things are going well but do you still trust God when things don’t appear to go well, When he doesn’t stop the hurts, when He doesn’t swoop in and save you from danger or disaster.  Do you still believe God is good because the truth of the matter is He is whether we believe it or not he is all the bible says he his.

3 – God is working even when you don’t see it

From our very limited view we like to think we know everything God is up to.  So when we (with our very limited view and limited understanding) think we don’t see God moving and working we assume nothing is being done. But know God is always at work even when you can’t see it.

4 – God is speaking more often than you realize

We desire to hear more from God and we often feel like we never hear him but God is speaking more often than we think. Even in his silence, He IS speaking.  #selah

5 – Its all about being Intentional and Relational

We are relational beings.  We are meant to connect with each other and as Christians we should be doing this to the 10th degree.  Be purposeful in your relationships.  Get to know one another.  Care about and for one another.  Pray for one another.  Bear one anothers burdens.  It’s a way of life!

6 – Love, relationships and that thing called Lust

Its ok to want a relationship.  Its ok to desire a man or woman of God.  But don’t let those Godly desires become worldly desires.  Know the difference between having an appreciation for the godly qualities you see in the opposite sex and not being fooled into mistaking a desire for those qualities into a desire for the person.  There are a lot of good qualities in a lot of people but that doesn’t mean that the person you see them in is meant for you.  If that’s the case every guy that likes football would be meant to be my husband!!!

7 – Spiritual warfare is real

It is as real as that shirt on your back.  So take it seriously. Point. Blank. Period.

8 – Pride is ugly

Pride is one of the nastiest, ugliest sins to struggle with but our God is a redeeming God.

9 – It takes perseverance and diligence to build good habits

No matter if its eating healthy, exercising, studying the bible or whatever.  If you want to build good habits you have to work at it.

10 – No one is perfect and no one will ever be

It doesn’t matter if you go on a missions trip like the world race, if you’re a pastor, an evangelist, a movie star, whatever!  No one is perfect!  If you have dreams of one day becoming SUPER CHRISTIAN then im sorry to tell ya, It AINT GONNA HAPPEN!  We all have things that we struggle with now and we will all continue to struggle with something as long as we live.  That doesn’t mean stop trying.  Continue dying to self, continue to submit yourself to God and it becomes easier every day.  But don’t think that you are going to ever achieve this state of perfection.  We are in a war, a continuous war.  Keep fighting and don’t beat yourself up for when you fail cause God is still with you.

11 – God is everywhere

Gods finger print in on everything because HE MADE EVERYTHING. You can find Him in the sunrise, in the wind, the grass, in a childs laughter, the rain, the earth.  He created it all.  It all is made for His glory and all earth sings together the goodness of the creator.  Take time to enjoy Him today.  His finger print in everywhere.

So these are just a few of the lessons ive been learning on the race.  I pray these seeds take root in my heart and spring forth good fruit for the glory.

Ps: Shout out to Hope, Lizi, and the oh so wonderful Tameka for being a listening ear the past few days when I really needed it.
