It was getting close to the final deadline for all the funds to be in, and I was still $2,500 away from being fully funded. I told God that if He wanted me to stay on the Race and finish the last 5 months, He would financially provide a way for me. I made a video and wrote a blog about it, and trusted that God had it in His hands.
This month, my team and I had the privilege of doing an Unsung Heroes month where we traveled throughout the country that we’re in to make connections and contacts for future world racers to come and work with in the upcoming trips. Panama is one of the countries that the World Race has only been to once, so we had a lot of connections to make! It was so wonderful to have this month to truly listen to the voice of God and be Spirit led. We fully allowed God to lead us and guide us to the people He wanted us to meet. And it didn’t matter where we went or what we did, because God always placed them in our path whether it be in the marketplace, on a street corner, at the meat counter, or washing our hands in the bathroom. God has a sense of humor, let me tell you! We would find people in the places we least expected. I am so excited for the world racers who will come after us to work with the wonderful ministries we partnered up with this month.
After such a wonderful month of ministry, I knew that God wasn’t done with me yet. I was homesick and having some challenges with my new team, but I knew I wasn’t supposed to go home just yet. So, this is where the story gets fun. My uncle was coming to Panama this month to get married and he brought my cousins Madison, Camille, and Kade along. They all stayed in Panama for 10 days and I was so incredibly blessed to be able visit them with my teammate Schuylar for a day at their beach house in San Carlos. I had been missing home like crazy, and getting to spend time with family was just what I needed! So, we hung out at the beach for the day and I told them all about the World Race and what I’ve been doing the last 6 months. I never told them I needed money, but they asked if my trip was already fully paid for. I told them I still had some money to raise, but I wasn’t worried about it because if God wanted me to be here, He would provide a way. At the end of the day, my Uncle David and his wife Jay come up to me and asked me the exact amount of money I needed to be fully funded. Jay said that they had been praying about who/where to send their offering to. They had already had the money set aside, and they believed that the Lord wanted them to sow into my ministry here. Jay had a dream before they came to Panama about a young person that they were going to help during their stay in Panama, and then God sent them me. The very next morning, they wrote the exact amount of money I needed to be fully funded minus the monthly donations I would be receiving til the end of the Race. But, before I knew it, the last $200 came in within a few days, and now I don’t even need the monthly donations, because my trip is 100% paid for!
I am just blown away by God’s faithfulness. When He calls us to do something, He provides. When we are in the Will He has for our lives, we have no need to doubt. I’ll admit, for a while I thought my Race was over. I was ready to pack up and go home. But, God has made it CLEAR that this is definitely the plan He has for my life in this season, and He is a God of Miracles! It is only by the grace of God that I am still here. It is only by His mercy that I have the privilege of serving beautiful people in these countries all throughout Latin America. I believe this is just a launching pad for my life ministry after the Race. This is my preparation ground. I am SO excited to see where God takes me in the next 5 months, and excited to see how He continues to mold and make me into the woman He has called me to be. Thank you to all of my loving supporters back home who have spurred me on to pursue the purpose I have here. I would not be able to do what I am doing without you.
We leave tomorrow for Costa Rica!
Meet Team F.L.A.M.E. Fierce. Loving. Amigas. Mightily. Empowered.
