In just a short week, The Lord has been so present and good to our team. Below is a short video to give you all a glimpse of what life has looked like so far in our home at Zoe Christian School.
The Lord has been convicting me lately of how much noise consumes our culture. We are quick to talk hours on end about issues, yet spend a strictly timed 5 minutes actually praying about them. A wise mentor once illustrated to me that a relationship with God is like a phone call. Do we spend enough time conversing with God that when He speaks back His voice is even familiar to us?
Following these convictions, I will be making space for silence this week. Likewise, I’d like to offer you all the challenge to cut out whatever noise is consuming your attention in exchange for making space to intentionally spend time with God. An incredible friend sent this prayer to me in a letter, and I thought it was so beautifully written and encouraging that, if you feel led to, I would appreciate you adding this prayer to your own prayers on behalf of our team:
“I pray Lord that you will walk hand in hand with your child. That you will teach her about your love through the eyes, lips, hands and feet of everyone she works with. That your divine presence would be with her as she rises and when she lays. That she would run with fervor and be still with patience in her circumstances. God, I pray for protection over her, Ashley, Kathleen, Grace, Lauren, Jamie, and Dottie. I pray that when conflicts arise, that they would be forgiving, that when illness strikes they would be serving, that when comfort sneaks in, that they would be on guard. Lord, I pray that you would put each of your daughters in a posture to learn. That they would be building trust with the locals, their hosts, the churches and missionaries. That nothing would be done for their own gain, but that whatever they do, it is done to advance your kingdom. Open their eyes to your heart Father that they would turn and just bless others, edify the church, and see your kingdom come.”
