Hello from Thailand!
Last weekend I got the opportunity to fly to Gainesville, GA to attend training camp for this trip. It was an incredible opportunity to get some training, build relationships with my team, meet other teams, and worship God. God has definitely blessed me with such a fantastic team that already feels like family. I couldn’t be more thankful for each of them. Through it all I learned more about hearing the voice of God and the fact that ministry is not something specific that we do but rather a mindset of how we live life everyday.
We left this past Monday morning and flew to Shanghai and then on to Bangkok where we took a bus to Chiang Mai, Thailand. While we will officially begin working with our ministry hosts on Monday, we have gotten to worship together as a team and prayer walk around the city. Please be praying that the people of Chiang Mai and Thailand will come to Jesus.
On Thursday we got the opportunity to worship together with people that are working here long term. It was here that God broke my heart for these people (like I had been praying before we came) and I was overwhelmed with the fact that they live in brokenness and darkness because they don’t know Jesus, who is Light, Hope, and Peace. Here in Thailand the majority of people are Buddhist and there even is a saying: To be Thai is to be Buddhist. Many people only know Buddhism. Only 1% of people here are Christians. Throughout worship I came to the revelation of how much He longs for all of us, from every tribe and tongue, to know Him as a good Father. Thank you Lord that you are pursuing the people of Thailand.
Since we don’t start working with our ministry partners until tomorrow we have gotten to explore a little bit around the area 🙂
