God works in the little ways. Just like in 2 Kings 6, with the anointing of God, Elisha was able to throw a stick in the water just to recover an axehead that had sunk to the bottom of the sea for someone that desperately needed the axehead. It’s crazy because we always hear about the HUGE miracles God does for people, and it sometimes feels like all the huge miracles happen all around us, and we never get a piece of it.
We as a culture of always wanting more, more, more we don’t realize how God works in the itty bitty ways. The miracles that happen on a daily basis. And it’s not like that we take our miracles for granted, but more of that they happen so much that we don’t even realize that the miracles are happening all around us.
We’ve been raised to ride in cars since the time we got released from the hospital within a week of our lives starting. Imagine being the age you are now, and never had ridden in a car. Now picture you being however old you are, in the front passenger seat of a car going down a two-lane road going 55 miles-per-hour. An 18-wheeler transfer truck in coming down that two lane road in the opposite direction. In a split second the two vehicles pass each other going 55MPH, not even 3 yards apart. That’s a miracle in it’s own that we don’t think twice about.
It took Elisha a split second to have faith in God and throw the stick into the water. In just that split second, God showed how awesome and powerful he is. In just the split second of passing that 10 ton transfer truck, God is showing how amazing he is.
